At the One to one Project, we understand that the current situation can bring anxiety, uncertainty and loneliness. Due to the recent pandemic and in line with government guidelines on social distancing, the One to One Project is diversifying and in the coming weeks will be able to offer online counselling. Please keep visiting this website for the latest updates to our service.
This will allow current clients of the One to One Project to maintain their regular appointment times with their counsellor without the need to travel and will enable counselling to be available to new clients who wish to access this service, after an initial assessment.
This service will replace the face-to-face counselling that the one to One project offers, until further notice. Online counselling is similar in nature to face to face counselling. Online counselling therapy is a way for you to engage in counselling using internet technology such as email, online chat, telephone or web-cam video.
The counselling will be conducted via free software that enables you to see and talk to your counsellor via a video link. You will need to have an internet connection and access to a computer, tablet, or smart-phone.
You direct your counselling by selecting the method of communication you feel most comfortable with. You choose the time, the place and the pace of your counselling to suit your needs.
Every effort is made to provide a safe and secure environment for your online therapy with encryption software to maximise confidentiality and security.
Webecam counselling is a way for you to see your counsellor face-to-face from your computer whilst engaging in therapy.
You will be guided through setting up your own encrypted Zoom account and you will meet your counsellor on Zoom at a time that you have previously arranged. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Being able to see your counsellor gives you more of the benefits you get from face-to face counselling but with the convenience of online therapy.
